One of the things that I learned from my time as a project leader for a volunteer organization is that no matter how small or even how tardy, all volunteers appreciate receiving thanks even when they receive swag or other tangibles.
The event I recently finished had many volunteers who completed some 'above and beyond' work for the gala fundraiser I managed them for. Hopefully in addition to an email 'thank you,' I can persuade the event organizers to do something a little more.
I will need to also task care of making sure the volunteer lists are accurate, since it is likely that I will not be volunteer recruiter / coordinator next year, the person that comes behind me will have to understand what was done.

I've watched the activities of the other Meetup organizers and will work on developing a schedule for mine. It looks like I start blogging on April 11th. First posts are hard because one feels that they set the tone for everything to come. I think that sometimes it makes sense to keep things short and sweet. |
